Apella Wealth has expanded its assets under management to $12 billion following two recent acquisitions that added $928 million in client assets, according to company announcements. The West Hartford, Connecticut-based registered investment advisor acquired South Carolina-based Morris Financial Concepts and California-based Longview Financial Advisors in transactions that extended its geographic footprint and added wealth practices to its network.

### Morris Financial Concepts Adds $544 Million in South Carolina

According to an announcement from Apella Wealth, the firm acquired Morris Financial Concepts of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on Tuesday. Founded in 1983 by Kyra Hollowell Morris, the firm managed $544 million in client assets at the time of the deal.

Kyra Hollowell Morris served as the firm’s majority owner, while her son, Chief Compliance Officer James “Tucker” Morris, also held shares, according to the firm’s most recent Form ADV. Kyra Hollowell Morris and James Morris joined Apella Wealth alongside a staff of 10 employees.

“We spent more than a year thoughtfully searching for a firm that shared our fiduciary, planning-first approach and would allow us to continue serving clients the way we have for more than four decades,” Kyra Hollowell Morris said in a statement.

### Longview Financial Advisors Expands California Presence

A day after the Mount Pleasant announcement, Apella Wealth stated that Longview Financial Advisors of San Rafael, California, had joined the firm. Founded in 2018 by Tim Harrington, the practice managed $384 million in client assets.

Harrington owned the practice, which serves professionals, families, and retirees, according to its Form ADV filing. Jessica Polito of Turkey Hill Management represented Longview in the transaction.

“This partnership allows us to expand the resources and expertise available to our clients while preserving the personal relationships, independent advice and fiduciary approach that have always defined Longview,” Harrington said in a statement.

### Growth Strategy Under Wealth Partners Capital Group

Led by CEO Jim Scanlan, Apella Wealth has completed 29 acquisitions since its inception. Of those deals, 18 have occurred following a 2021 minority investment by Wealth Partners Capital Group.

The two latest transactions push the firm’s total assets under management to the $12 billion threshold. The firm continues to target RIAs that align with its fiduciary and planning-first service model as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
