Apple Music 5.2 Adds AI Playlist Creation and Concert Discovery
Apple Music’s latest update, version 5.2 for Android, brings features mirroring those recently introduced in iOS 26.4, including AI-powered playlist generation and integrated concert listings. The update is now available to all users following its initial beta release earlier this month.
Playlist Playground: AI-Powered Playlist Creation
A key addition is Playlist Playground, which leverages generative AI to help users create playlists based on simple prompts. Accessible from the Library tab, this feature allows users to either input a specific idea or utilize Apple Music’s suggested prompts and songs to kickstart the playlist creation process. Users retain full control, with the ability to manually add, remove, and refine songs as desired.
Redesigned Albums and Playlists
The update also introduces a visual overhaul for albums, and playlists. The new design utilizes full-page artwork, extending the themed background to the track list and related suggestions. This immersive approach aims to enhance the listening experience. The Play button is now centered, while the Shuffle button has been redesigned as a circle on the left, and the Download button is positioned on the right. A Share menu is located in the corner, improving one-handed usability.
Concert Discovery
Apple Music 5.2 now integrates concert information directly into the app. Artist pages may display an “Upcoming Concerts” badge, with a dedicated section for “All Upcoming Concerts” located below the Top Videos carousel. This feature allows users to easily find shows in their area and tour dates for their favorite artists. As previously reported, this functionality was initially introduced in iOS 26.4.

Beyond these core features, Apple Music 5.2 includes several other enhancements:
- Video Subtitles: Customizable font, style, and background options for video subtitles.
- Expanded Language Support: Support for 10 new system languages, including Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
