Apple Music Integrates Concert Discovery with Ticketmaster and Bandsintown
Apple Music is enhancing its user experience by directly integrating concert discovery features through partnerships with Ticketmaster, and Bandsintown. The new functionality, rolled out as part of the iOS 26.4 update currently in beta, aims to streamline the process of finding and purchasing concert tickets without leaving the Apple Music app.
Seamless Concert Discovery
The integration displays present listings directly on artist pages. When a user plays a song, they can access the artist’s page and view upcoming tour dates and purchase tickets. Listings will similarly appear in a personalized carousel on the Apple Music homepage, tailored to each user’s listening history. A dedicated “Concerts” tab allows users to filter shows by location, genre, and date, providing venue information, set lists, and direct ticket links.
Bandsintown Integration Details
For Bandsintown, artists need to connect their Apple Music profile URL through the Bandsintown for Artists dashboard. Once linked, events typically sync to Apple Music within 24 to 48 hours. Venues, festivals, and promoters utilizing Bandsintown Pro can also feature their events on Apple Music. Bandsintown currently supplies live event data to Shazam, Apple Maps, Spotlight Search, Apple Photos, and Apple Music’s Set Lists feature.
Ticketmaster Partnership
Ticketmaster’s events are also discoverable through Shazam, Spotlight, Apple Maps, and Apple Photos with iOS 26. According to Michael Chua, VP Global Business Development at Ticketmaster, the partnership “creates a seamless path from listening to attending — helping artists turn fandom into real-world connection at scale.”
Expanding Apple Music’s Ecosystem
This concert listings integration is one of several recent updates to Apple Music. The platform recently integrated with TikTok, allowing subscribers to play full-length tracks discovered on the social media app without switching platforms. Shazam’s music recognition technology was integrated into ChatGPT, enabling users to identify songs within OpenAI’s app.
Apple Music Connect Revived
Apple Music also revived the Apple Music Connect name, now functioning as a professional toolkit for labels and distributors to promote content, pitch releases to Apple’s editorial team, upload press photos, and coordinate marketing materials.
Bandsintown Marketplace Growth
The partnership with Apple Music comes as Bandsintown expands its own ecosystem with the Bandsintown for Artists Marketplace, which connects artists with third-party services for music distribution, fan data management, and merchandise sales. The marketplace includes over 30 partners, including Apple Maps, Apple Music, Bing, Google, Shazam, Spotify, and YouTube.
Bandsintown currently has 100 million registered fans and features over 2 million events annually from more than 700,000 artists and 65,000 venues.
