Apple TV+ Announces “My Brother the Minotaur” Animated Series, Premiering April 24

Apple TV+ is expanding its family programming with the upcoming premiere of “My Brother the Minotaur,” a novel animated adventure series set to debut on Friday, April 24th. The series features a star-studded voice cast including Brian Cox, Andy Serkis, Michael Sheen, and T’Nia Miller.

A Mythic Blend of Adventure and Self-Discovery

Produced by Dog Ears and Cartoon Saloon, “My Brother the Minotaur” centers on a young minotaur—half boy, half bull—who was raised in the human world. The story follows his journey to uncover the mystery of his past and embrace his destiny, aided by his loyal human brother and a group of friends, even as facing formidable dark forces. Apple TV describes the series as exploring “universal themes of growing up, feeling different and discovering where you belong,” and celebrating the importance of finding acceptance and a sense of home.

Voice Cast and Creative Team

The voice cast includes Brian Cox (known for his role in Succession), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Andor), Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon), and T’Nia Miller (Years and Years). Rising stars Ely Solan, Billy Jenkins, Luciana Akpobaro, and Billie Boullet as well contribute voice performances. MacDailyNews reports that Gerry Shirren and Fionnuala Deane serve as executive producers, with John McDaid, Nora Twomey, Tomm Moore, Paul Young and Nuria Blanco as producers. The series was created by Donal Mangan and directed by Maurice Joyce.
