FACE Coalition launches support for Black-owned startups
The Propelling Black Entrepreneurship Program 2026 has opened for applications, offering eligible Black-owned businesses in Canada access to professional legal and financial services valued at up to $2,500. Backed by the TD Ready Commitment, the initiative is managed by the FACE Coalition to provide early-stage entrepreneurs with the specialized resources required for long-term financial readiness.
Strict eligibility criteria for applicants
Access to the program is restricted to businesses that are Black-owned and hold a valid Business Registration Number. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with companies that have been in operation for five years or less.
Legal and financial service tracks
Selected participants receive support from two primary providers: Endlex Legal Inc. and MNP.
Legal support via Endlex covers core corporate requirements, including incorporation, minute book setup, and the drafting of shareholders’ agreements, employment contracts, and IP assignment agreements. The firm also provides guidance on lease negotiations, Small Claims counsel, and website compliance, such as Privacy Policies and Terms of Use. These services are available in both English and French, with document translation options provided.
The financial track, led by MNP, focuses on the structural health of the business. Entrepreneurs can receive assistance with refining business plans, preparing financial projections, drafting financial statements, and meeting complex tax filing requirements.
Applications for 2026 cohort close October 23
The window for the 2026 cohort opened on September 28 and closes on October 23, 2026, at 6 p.m. EST. Business owners must submit their applications through the official program portal, where they are required to identify their specific needs in legal, business planning, or financial services.
