Iran’s Ardabil Airport Records Plunging temperatures
Ardabil Airport, located in northwestern Iran, registered a chilling -27 degrees Celsius (-17 degrees Fahrenheit) overnight, marking the lowest temperature recorded nationwide, according to the Ardabil Province Meteorological Authority. The extreme cold has positioned the airport as the coldest location in Iran during this period.
Sadegh Kouhi, Director General of the Ardabil Meteorological Organization, confirmed the severity of the cold wave impacting the region. He stated that the province is currently experiencing widespread, intensely cold conditions, coupled with significant snowfall in mountainous and rural areas.
Local meteorological services are urging residents to exercise caution due to the sustained low temperatures, potential for icy road conditions, and possible disruptions to both transportation networks and daily life. Authorities advise taking necessary precautions to mitigate risks associated with the harsh weather.
