gathered in kern this thursday, the main ministers of the government agreed on several measures, previously announced during the adoption of the federal budget.Approved projects can now be tabled in the House.

The validated measures concern:

* the extinction of preferential retirement ages for military personnel and HR-Rail rolling staff
* the extension of the period of the reference salary for the calculation of the civil servants’ pension
* the elimination of preferential fees and increase coefficients
* the modification of eligibility for the pension of civil servants for periods of leave, availability, career interruption and other forms of absence

The government has also validated the introduction, in the three pension schemes, of a new additional possibility of early retirement for a long career actually worked from the age of 60 and 42 years of career and where each year of career has at least 234 days of actual work.

Tax Reform in Belgium: Key Changes Proposed

The draft bill also includes a reform of supplements to the tax-exempt income ratio, in favor of the supplement for the frist dependent child.

Furthermore,the integration income will be included in the declaration,in order to better take into account all income and the marital quotient for non-pensioners will be reduced by half by 2029. For pensioners, the text provides for a very gradual extinction scenario over 20 years.
