Arlo Parks Announces New Album ‘Ambiguous Desire’ and Shares New Single “Get Go”

Arlo Parks is set to release her third album, Ambiguous Desire, on May 3 via Transgressive, following the release of singles “2SIDED” and “Heaven.” The artist has now shared the album’s third single, “Get Go,” accompanied by a music video directed by Chloé Desaulles.

“Get Go” and the Album’s Themes

Parks describes “Get Go” as encapsulating “the sense of melancholy euphoria at the center of the record.” She explains the song is “about the dance floor as a means of healing, understanding yourself and discovering your relationship to love.” Under the Radar reports the track features a “crisp pirate-radio-inspired beat” and “booming bass.”

Previous Releases and Background

Ambiguous Desire is Parks’ third album, succeeding 2023’s My Soft Machine and her critically acclaimed debut, Collapsed in Sunbeams (2021), which won the Mercury Prize. Parks collaborated with producer Baird (Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract) on the new album, recording in New York City.

Parks previously released the singles “2SIDED” and “Heaven” from Ambiguous Desire, with “Heaven” being highlighted as a Song of the Week. She also contributed the song “Nothing I Could Hide” to the Support(2) charity album benefiting War Child, also recognized as a Song of the Week.

About “Get Go”

The lyrics to “Get Go” describe a scene on a dance floor, observing someone grappling with heartbreak. The song begins with a spoken-word introduction: “The new management, in conjunction with One Less Enterprise / Proudly presents, the UK Border Clash / Every Sunday, from 2 p.m. Till 2 a.m.” Genius provides the full lyrics to the song.
