Can Armando Güner to Join Galatasaray
18-year-old can Armando Güner, currently playing in the youth system of German Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach, has arrived in Istanbul to finalize a transfer to Galatasaray.Following medical examinations, he is expected to sign a 4.5-year contract wiht the Turkish Süper Lig team. [1]
According to reports from german publication Bild, Galatasaray will pay a transfer fee of approximately €1 million for Güner.The club reportedly convinced the player with the promise of inclusion in the first team squad, despite interest from Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim.Güner reportedly chose to play in Türkiye, the homeland of his father. [1, 2] Journalist Ertan Süzgün reports that Güner’s annual salary will be under €300,000.[1]
This season, Güner has played for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s U19 team, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists in 15 matches. [1] He is eligible to represent the national teams of Germany, Argentina (through his mother), and Türkiye. He has previously represented Germany at the U16 and U17 levels and was part of the Argentina U17 squad for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in November 2023. [1, 3]
