The international art and collectibles auction calendar is set to intensify between March 19 and 25, 2026, with significant events scheduled across Milan, Rome, Paris, Hong Kong, and New York. Philately, design, modern and contemporary art, and technical collecting are among the key areas driving a increasingly global market.
Italy: Milan and Rome Lead the Charge
The auction week begins on March 19 with Bridgewhich in Milan hosting an auction dedicated to philately. Also on March 19, Wannenes presents Books and Manuscripts via an internet-only auction. In Rome, Colasanti opens a sale dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Art, a theme echoed by Capitol Art with an online auction of Design and Decorative Arts of the 20th century on the same day.
Wannenes continues with Vintage Master and 19th-century painting auctions (web auction only) starting March 20. Shield will also hold Old Master and 19th-century paintings and Modern and Contemporary Art sessions until March 20. Trinket House will feature Vintagemania and continue its Modern and Contemporary Art sale through March 26. Finarte presents Important Ancient Weapons, Armor, Orders and Militaria in a live auction in Sarzana on March 19-20, while Fabiani Art hosts a live sale of Modern and Contemporary Art on March 21. Looking beyond Italy, the European market is thriving, particularly in Paris, New York, and Hong Kong. Christie’s initiated the international auction series on March 19 with its London session dedicated to Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale. Sotheby’s presented Liquid Jade: Moutai + Tea Treasures in Hong Kong and concluded its Winter Private Sales Selling Exhibition in New York on the same day. Christie’s also concluded Jewels Online in New York, while Artcurial finished ART INTERNATIONAL AVANT 1900 ONLINE.
Bonhams – Cornette de Saint Cyr demonstrated its global reach with a series of appointments on March 19, including Fine Jewellery in Paris, Modern & Contemporary African Art in London, and a live auction of Modern Design | Art in Los Angeles. In Vienna, Dorotheum focused on accessibility with online auctions of Watches and Accessories for Men, Modern and Contemporary, Modern Austrian Art, and Austrian Contemporary and Modern Art. Secret concluded Eclectic in Paris, and Piguet in Geneva launched lots spanning luxury leather goods, watches, jewelry, and more.
