Voters in Salina will have the opportunity to meet candidates for the November 3 election during a "Coffee with the Candidate" event hosted at Red Fern Booksellers on Oct. 10. The informal, come-and-go session runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the bookstore, located at 106 S. Santa Fe Ave.
Confirmed Candidates Attending
As of Sept. 28, nine candidates have confirmed their participation in the meet-and-greet event. According to reporting by the Salina Journal, the following individuals are scheduled to attend:
- State House, District 69: Miranda Bachman
- State House, District 71: Steven Howe and Jerry Lonergan
- State House, District 107: Cheri Koochel
- Saline County Commission, District 1: James Bowden and Sharon Callabresi
- Kansas State Board of Education, District 7: Alana McWilliams and Ann Zimmerman
- Kansas Secretary of State: Scott Morgan
Voters Must Register by Oct. 13
The meeting at Red Fern Booksellers takes place just days before the deadline to register for the upcoming election. Voters must be registered by Oct. 13 to participate in the Nov. 3 ballot.
For those who prefer to vote before Election Day, in-person early voting is scheduled to begin Oct. 19 at the Saline County Election Office.
