Arturia FX Collection 6 Ushers in New Effects and Accessible Intro Version

Arturia has released FX Collection 6, a significant update to its suite of audio effects plugins. The new version introduces two novel plugins – EFX Ambient and Pitch Shifter-910 – alongside a more affordable “Intro” tier, expanding accessibility for music producers and sound designers.

Pitch Shifter-910: A Modern Take on a Classic

Pitch Shifter-910 is Arturia’s reimagining of the iconic Eventide H910 Harmonizer , a pioneering digital effects processor from the mid-1970s. The original H910 was celebrated for its distinctive character, often used to add grit to vocals and guitars, and for creating chorus-like thickening effects in dance music. Arturia’s version incorporates both vintage and modern pitch-shifting engines, complemented by a dedicated delay section capable of generating pitched repeats.

The plugin isn’t designed for transparent harmony creation. instead, it embraces its unique quirks, capable of producing effects like “chipmunk vocals” at higher pitch ranges. A modern mode is as well included to reduce artifacts whereas retaining the essence of the original H910, though some users may find this diminishes the effect’s inherent unpredictability.

EFX Ambient: Exploring Textural Soundscapes

EFX Ambient is a new addition to Arturia’s EFX series, described as a “dreamlike processor” specializing in ambient soundscapes and textured sound design. The plugin combines pitch-shifting, distortion, and spatial processing, offering six distinct modes – Reflect, Woven, Siren, Organist, Codec, and Sunken – each designed to generate unique ambient textures.

EFX Ambient features a simplified user interface with Tone and Space parameters controlled via an X/Y control surface, alongside a Dry/Wet mix control. An expanded Advanced view provides access to deeper editing capabilities.

FX Collection 6: Pro vs. Intro

FX Collection 6 is available in two versions: Pro and Intro. The Pro version boasts a total of 39 plugins, an increase of five from version 5, and is priced at $499. The new Intro version offers a curated selection of six effects – Efx Motions, Efx Fragments, Mix Drums, Tape Mello-Fi, Rev Plate-140, and Delay Tape-201 – for $99, providing a versatile toolkit for delay, reverb, tape-like lo-fi effects, modulation, and granular processing.

The Intro version does not include the new EFX Ambient and Pitch Shifter-910 plugins, nor does it feature saturation, compression, or specialty delay and reverb effects found in the Pro version.

Expanding Value and Legacy

Arturia has steadily expanded the FX Collection since its inception in 2020, growing from 15 effects to 39 in 2026. This growth has enhanced the collection’s value proposition, positioning it as a competitive alternative to Arturia’s well-regarded V Collection of synthesizer plugins.
