Asia Pacific Opens Touch Cup Set to Launch in Mudgee, Australia

The Federation of International Touch (FIT) is set to host the inaugural Asia Pacific Opens Touch Cup (APOTC) from April 23 to 26, 2026, at Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex in Mudgee, New South Wales. Classified as a Tier 2A international event, the tournament will feature Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and Mixed Open divisions, building on the success of the 2025 Asia Pacific Youth Touch Cup.

Hosted by Touch Football Australia in partnership with FIT, the APOTC aims to strengthen international competition pathways across the Asia Pacific region. The event is expected to draw approximately 500 players and officials from 13 countries, with priority given to teams from Asia and Oceania regions.

Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex, already recognized for its world-class facilities, will serve as the venue for all matches across the four-day competition. Entry for participating nations is anticipated to open in September 2025, with full event details, including fixtures and team information, to be released closer to the date.

The APOTC represents a significant expansion of FIT’s international calendar, offering senior athletes from member nations a high-level competitive platform in the open age categories. As the first edition of what organizers envision as an annual fixture, the 2026 tournament marks a key milestone in the growth of touch football across the region.

Further updates, including team announcements, referee appointments, and event programming, will be published through official FIT and Touch Football Australia channels as preparations progress.
