Asus ExpertBook B5 G2: Windows 11 “Pure OS” Option Revealed

ASUS ExpertBook B5 G2 Offers ‘Pure OS’ Option for Enhanced Enterprise Deployment

ASUS has quietly introduced a “Windows 11 Pure OS” configuration for its new ExpertBook B5 G2 business laptop, signaling a move towards streamlined deployments for enterprise customers. This option, discovered within the laptop’s technical specifications, suggests a cleaner operating system preload with reduced consumer-focused software layers.

What is Windows 11 Pure OS?

The Windows 11 Pure OS option appears alongside standard configurations like Windows 11 Pro and Home, as well as a no-OS option. Labeled “Windows 11 pure OS (not for open channel),” the designation indicates it’s intended for corporate procurement and standardized system image deployments, rather than general retail sales. The benefit of a “pure” OS lies in its simplified image, reducing setup time and eliminating the need to remove pre-installed, unwanted applications – a common practice for IT departments deploying laptops at scale.

ExpertBook B5 G2: A Copilot+ PC for Modern Professionals

The ExpertBook B5 G2 was initially announced as a Copilot+ PC, highlighting its integration with AI-powered features. The laptop is powered by up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Series 3 processor with up to 50 TOPS NPU, and Intel® graphics, delivering enhanced productivity. It supports up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM and storage configurations reaching 4TB. ASUS emphasizes the laptop’s AI capabilities, including ASUS MyExpert and Microsoft Copilot integration, designed to streamline workflows and file management.

Security Features

Security is a key focus for the ExpertBook B5 G2, incorporating features such as TPM 2.0, dual BIOS protection, biometric login, and optional smart card authentication. ASUS highlights that the laptop’s BIOS is NIST SP 800-193 Compliant, and offers 5-years of security updates.

Design and Connectivity

The ExpertBook B5 G2 is available in both 14-inch and 16-inch models, featuring an aluminum chassis and a 16:10 display. It offers a range of business-friendly connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, RJ45, and a MicroSD card reader. The 14-inch model weighs as little as 1.38 kg, making it a competitive option in the corporate laptop segment.

Availability and Pricing

As of February 17, 2026, pricing and specific availability details for the ExpertBook B5 G2, including the Windows 11 Pure OS configuration, have not yet been announced. Interested parties can register their interest on the ASUS website.
