Emergency Surgery Follows On-Field Collision

Oakland Athletics infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer has been placed on the 10-day injured list after undergoing emergency surgery for a ruptured testicle. The injury occurred Tuesday night during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, when a pitch from left-hander Mitch Bratt struck the infielder.

The Bottom of the Fifth

As Kuroda-Grauer faced Bratt, a pitch deflected off the infielder, causing a testicular contusion that necessitated immediate medical intervention.

Roster Shuffle in Oakland

To fill the vacancy on the active roster, the Athletics have recalled infielder Max Muncy from the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators. While the 10-day injured list is the initial procedural step, the organization has not yet provided a specific date for the rookie’s return to baseball activities.

Early Career Progress Halted

Kuroda-Grauer, a 2024 third-round draft pick and native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, is in the early stages of his professional career. Since his debut, he has appeared in 16 Major League Baseball games. His production this season includes 25 hits, one home run, and four runs batted in.
