2026 Festival Schedule and Key Events
The festival opens on Friday, August 7, 2026, with the John Ritter Tribute Showcase starting at 6:00 PM at the Carthage Civic Center, located at 310 W. The main Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Show follows on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the same venue. Initiated in 1998, the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame honors individuals recognized nationally for their contributions to the country profession. The 13,000-square-foot facility houses extensive exhibits, a gift shop, and a banquet room capable of seating up to 300 guests for lectures or 200 for catered dinners. Opened in August 2002 as a $2.5 million venue, the adjacent Tex Ritter Museum has welcomed more than 30,000 visitors from across the United States and international locations including England and Scotland.
Recent Inductees and Past Festival Highlights
The organization previously inducted Johnny Horton and Asleep at the Wheel during its preceding festival cycle. Past performer lineups featured fan-favorite entertainers such as Clay Cooper, classic country harmony group The Malpass Brothers, the award-winning duo Linda Davis and Lang Scott, and singer-songwriter Dallas Wayne. Additionally, the festival featured special tributes celebrating the television series Hee Haw with original cast members Jana Jae, Misty Rowe, and Buddy Alan Owens.
