Auļu Winter Solstice Concert at Palladium Riga
Folk and bagpipe music group Auļi will stage an energetic Winter Solstice celebration at the Palladium concert hall on December 16, featuring their award-winning album Ķekatās in its live concert format for the first time, nra.lv reported. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in traditional traditional mask-wearing stilts costumes or integrate traditional elements into modern evening wear.
Award-Winning Album Brought to Life
The core of the concert program centers around Auļi’s winter solstice album In Kekatas. While individual tracks from the album have appeared in previous setlists, the band has never performed the entire album live from start to finish. Three guest vocalists—Asnate Rancāne, Katrīna Dimanta, and Beāte Zviedre—will join Auļi on stage to perform the distinctive vocal arrangements featured on the record.
Stage Lineup and Production Crew
The instrumental lineup expands for the Palladium performance with the addition of cellist Miķelis Dobičins and multi-instrumentalist Ilze Grunte. Auļi’s core membership takes the stage with drummers Edgars Kučiks, Mārtiņš Miļevskis, Kaspars Indrēvics, and Edgars Krūmiņš; bagpipers Normunds Vaivads, Kaspars Bārbals, Edgars Kārklis, and Gatis Indrēvics; and bassist Gatis Valters. Edgars Zilberts anchors the male vocal harmonies. Production responsibilities are handled by sound engineer Einārs Cintiņš, lighting designer Reinis Zalte, and video projection artist Klāvs Skrastiņš, with ethno DJ Kaspars Zaviļeiskis opening the evening to warm up the crowd.
