Australian GP Test Schedule: Last Tests Before the Race

After an intense week in Sakhir, Franco Colapinto He finished with a good feeling after placing eighth on the last day of testing and completing more than 100 laps with the A526.

Now, the Argentine already knows when he will get back in the car before the start of the championship. Formula 1 2026.

The activity will continue next week at the Bahrain International Circuit, where the last official preseason tests will take place.

Dates: Wednesday 18, Thursday 19 and Friday 20 February.

Schedule (Argentina):

  • Session 1: from 4 to 8
  • Session 2: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They will be three key days for the Alpine driver, who will take advantage of each lap to finalize details in the set-up and continue his definitive adaptation to the car.

The week started off complicated for the Argentine, since on Wednesday he caused the first red flag of the year and finished 18th in the time table.

However, on Friday he showed a clear evolution: he turned in both runs, accumulated a large number of laps and finished in eighth place.

The balance was positive for both the driver and the Alpine F1 Team, which aims to regularly get into the points zone during the first dates of the calendar.

Furthermore, for Colapinto these training sessions have a special value: it is the first time that he has carried out a complete preseason as an official Formula 1 driver, with the same mileage as the rest of the grid.

The championship will officially begin in early March with the Australian Grand Prix, which will be held at the Albert Park circuit.

There the engines will definitely start and the real challenge will begin for Franco Colapinto, who arrives with renewed confidence and the hope of scoring points from the first race of the year.
