Swiss Badminton Elite Championships Return to Winterthur After Three Decades

after a 30-year hiatus, teh Swiss Badminton Elite Championships are set to return to Winterthur, promising a weekend of thrilling competition and showcasing the nation’s top talent.The championship tournament will take place next Saturday and Sunday at the AXA Arena, bringing together the 16 best badminton players in Switzerland.

The road to the finals was paved with a qualifying tournament held in Yverdon two weeks prior, determining the final roster of competitors. This year’s championship will feature intense matches across three disciplines: men’s singles,women’s singles,men’s doubles,women’s doubles,and mixed doubles.

A total of 23 clubs will be represented at the elite tournament, demonstrating the widespread growth and participation in badminton across switzerland. fourteen clubs secured direct entry into the main tournament, with an additional nine earning their spots through the qualifying rounds.

Team Argovia will be well-represented with players Tobias Künzi, Ronja Stern, Yann Orteu, and anja Strausak all vying for the national title.

Badminton enthusiasts can anticipate a high level of play and exciting rallies as Switzerland’s elite athletes battle for supremacy on the court. The return of the championships to Winterthur marks a meaningful moment for the sport in the region and is expected to draw a large and excited crowd.
