NEW DELHI,India – Malaysian men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun saw their campaign at the 2026 India open conclude in the quarterfinals,following a hard-fought defeat against China’s Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang.
The world No. 6 duo put up a valiant effort against the 2024 Paris Olympics silver medalists at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on Friday, January 16th. Despite a spirited performance, Wei Chong and Kai Wun ultimately fell short, losing 15-21, 21-15, 19-21 in a 50-minute battle.
This result marks the sixth consecutive defeat for the Malaysian pair against Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang,as they continue to seek their first victory against the formidable Chinese duo. The loss ends their run in the India Open, but provides valuable experience against one of the world’s top teams.
