Bae Yong-joon Increases Stake in Blitzway Entertainment Amidst Financial Challenges

Former actor Bae Yong-joon has increased his stake in Blitzway Entertainment, a KOSDAQ-listed entertainment company, through recent stock purchases. This move comes despite the company facing ongoing financial difficulties, having reported significant losses in recent years.

Investment Details

According to the Korea Exchange and the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system, Bae Yong-joon acquired 422,556 common shares of Blitzway Entertainment on March 5th and 6th. This brings his total holdings to 4,301,876 shares, representing an 8.63% stake in the company. Sedaily and The Chosun Ilbo reported on the transaction on March 11, 2026, noting the subsequent surge in the company’s stock price.

Blitzway Entertainment’s Business and Financial Performance

Founded in 2010, Blitzway Entertainment initially focused on producing licensed figures before diversifying into artist management and drama production. The company currently represents actors Ju Ji-hoon, Chun Woo-hee, and Do Kyung-soo, among others. The Korea Herald notes the company’s expansion into a comprehensive entertainment business.

However, Blitzway has experienced chronic losses since 2021. In 2024, the company merged with H& Entertainment, further diversifying its business. Despite this, the company reported a full-year operating loss of 9.1 billion won and a net loss of 13.5 billion won in 2025, increases of 36.7% and 67.6% year-over-year, respectively.

Bae Yong-joon’s Previous Involvement and Current Strategy

Bae Yong-joon is an early investor in Blitzway Entertainment, and his previous manager, Bae Sung-woong, currently serves as the Chairman of Blitzway Entertainment. Prior to this investment, Bae Yong-joon sold his 25.12% stake in KeyEast, an entertainment agency he founded, to SM Entertainment in 2018 and has since been residing in Hawaii with his family.

Analysts suggest that Bae Yong-joon’s increased investment may signal a renewed interest in the content industry, building on his past experience with KeyEast. The company’s strategy involves strengthening its competitiveness in the global market by establishing an IP-centered value chain connecting content production, artist management, music, and merchandise.
