‘Adolescence’ Dominates 2026 BAFTA TV Award Nominations

Adolescence leads the nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards, unveiled in London on Tuesday, with a total of 12 nominations. Disney+’s A Thousand Blows follows closely with seven nominations, while Andor and Trespasses each received six, and The Celebrity Traitors garnered five.

Leading the Pack: Key Nominations

The Emmy-winning cast of Adolescence continues to receive critical acclaim, with Stephen Graham nominated for best lead actor for his role as creator-star. He will compete against Colin Firth (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), Ellis Howard (What It Feels Like for a Girl), James Nelson-Joyce (This City Is Ours), Matt Smith (The Death of Bunny Munro), and Taron Egerton (Smoke) at the May 10 ceremony, hosted by Greg Davies of Taskmaster.

In the leading actress category, Aimee Lou Wood is nominated for her performance in Film Club, alongside Erin Doherty (A Thousand Blows), Jodie Whittaker (Toxic Town), Narges Rashidi (Prisoner 951), Sheridan Smith (I Fought The Law), and Sian Brooke (Blue Lights).

A Thousand Blows, Blue Lights, Code of Silence, and This City Is Ours are nominated for best drama series, while Adolescence competes in the limited series category. The international category features The Bear, The Diplomat, Pluribus, Severance, The Studio, and The White Lotus.

First-Time Nominees Recognized

This year’s awards also recognize several first-time nominees, including Ashley Walters, Christine Tremarco, Fehinti Balogun, Owen Cooper, and Paddy Considine.

BAFTA Television Awards Details

The 2026 BAFTA TV Awards with P&O Cruises will take place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London. The ceremony will air the same evening on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The BAFTA Television Craft Awards, with nominations also revealed on Tuesday, will be presented on April 26.
