Edwalton Golf Club Invests in Flood Mitigation

Edwalton Golf Club has invested in new balancing ponds to help offset the impacts of heavy rainfall and minimize disruption to its courses and the surrounding community.
Overseeding will take place on the two new ponds in the coming months, integrating them into the landscape. These ponds will collect rainwater and provide overflow capacity during heavier downpours.
The ponds will hold water and release it slowly back into the watercourse, preventing flooding at the clubhouse and minimizing the risk of closure for the café, lounge, and other facilities due to adverse weather.
New tarmac around the clubhouse will also direct water away from the building and towards the ponds, ensuring golfers can continue to enjoy the nine-hole main course, par 3 course, driving range, and putting green.
