“Now, for example, Bali has already become a convenient place for fugitives connected to drug crimes and other serious crimes“, the department replied, adding that this also applies to criminals of Russian origin.
The attorney general’s office stressed that Indonesian authorities want to prevent the country from becoming a “sanctuary” for criminals hoping to escape punishment.
„It cannot be allowed that one day they calmly and unnoticed arrive and hide in the territory of Indonesia“, the department notes.
