UAH Baseball Falls to North greenville in Season Opener
HOUSTON, TX – The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) baseball team began its 2026 season with a 12-3 loss to the North Greenville Crusaders on Friday at Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros, as part of the 2026 Houston Winter Invitational.
UAH jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning when freshman Gunnar Waldrop scored on an RBI double by Taylor bush. Though,North Greenville quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning.UAH starting pitcher zach Murphy, a junior transfer, struggled with control, issuing five walks and allowing six runs before being relieved. Murphy was charged with the loss, dropping his record to 0-1.
The Chargers narrowed the gap in the top of the third when Luke Songy hit a line drive that scored Sean Lapinske and Taylor bush. North Greenville continued to build its lead throughout the middle innings, ultimately securing a 12-3 victory.
