Oregon State Women’s Basketball Secures Comeback Victory over Montana State

The Oregon State Beavers rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat the Montana State Bobcats 62-60 on December 19, 2023. A strong second-half performance, fueled by key contributions from Raegan Villa,and tenacious defense secured the win for Oregon State.

Oregon State trailed 26-22 at halftime and 43-40 after the third quarter, but outscored Montana State 19-17 in the fourth to earn the victory. Villa led the charge, scoring efficiently and sealing the game with clutch free throws. She finished the game shooting 6-of-9 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and converting 3-of-4 free throws in the final seconds.
The Beavers’ defense proved pivotal,limiting montana State to just 27.8% shooting overall and 21.1% from beyond the arc. Néné Sow was a dominant force defensively, recording four blocks and two steals.

The Beavers took control in the final period. Villa’s three-pointer at the 8:25 mark gave Oregon State a 45-43 lead, and a driving layup by Shuler at 5:56 extended the advantage. after Chirrick’s late three-pointer narrowed the gap to one with 19 seconds remaining, Villa calmly sank her free throws to secure the 62-60 win.
