Kirill Gerstein to Perform Beethoven’s Piano Concertos with Dresdner Philharmonie
The Dresdner Philharmonie, led by pianist Kirill Gerstein, will present a marathon performance of three Beethoven piano concertos on January 29 and 30, 2027, at the Kulturpalast Dresden. The concerts mark a focus on Beethoven’s work in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of his death.
A Challenging Repertoire
According to the Dresdner Philharmonie, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 is considered exceptionally difficult, even for accomplished pianists, exhibiting a “frightening” level of complexity. The performance will trace the evolution of Beethoven’s piano concertos, from his early virtuoso displays to more profound and introspective works.
