Bega Group Streamlines Operations with Grove Juice Facility Sale

Australian food and beverage company Bega Group has entered into a binding agreement to sell its juice extraction factory in Leeton, New South Wales, to Grove Juice. The move is part of Bega Group’s strategy to simplify its operations while maintaining relationships with local fruit growers.

Details of the Transaction

The agreement, announced on August 29, 2024, transfers ownership of the Leeton facility and its machinery to Grove Juice. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the arrangement ensures continued fruit processing for Bega Group. Just Drinks reports that Grove Juice will continue to process some fruit juice at the Leeton site for Bega Group under a long-term agreement.

Impact on Workforce

Of the 21 employees currently working at the Leeton facility, 19 will transition to employment with Grove Juice. Two employees will remain with Bega Group. This shift aims to minimize disruption and leverage the expertise of Grove Juice in fruit extraction.

Based in Mansfield, Queensland, Grove Juice sources fruit from suppliers in Queensland and New South Wales, including contracted farms in Leeton, Moree and Griffith. Bega Group’s Product Portfolio

Bega Group’s drinks range includes brands such as Daily Juice, Dairy Farmers, Dare, Juice Brothers, Mildura, and Yogo. Bega Group also offers Daily Juice Orange Juice, which contains no added sugar.
