Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health identified irregularities in the composition of some biologically active additives (BAS) from Russia. The test showed that they contain too many biologically active substances, which is fraught with consequences. The Ministry of Health has banned the sale of them in our country.

We are talking about three dietary supplements produced in the Russian Federation. In all of them, the daily dose of vitamin D3 exceeds the upper permissible level by 3.3 times:

  1. “Vitamine D3/ Vitamin D3” (Himfarmcontract LLC),
  2. “Calcium chelate” (Pharmintegro LLC),
  3. “Vitamin D3 2000 IU (cholecalciferol)” (JSC “RealCaps”).

To protect people’s health, the chief state sanitary doctor of Belarus banned the import, storage, transportation and use of these products on the territory of the republic.

Why is this dangerous?

Experts reminded that independent and uncontrolled use of dietary supplements can seriously harm your health. Excess vitamin D in the body is considered more dangerous than its lack. First of all, this is fraught with an increase in the level of calcium in the blood, which can lead to its deposition not in the bones, but in the internal organs.

Possible consequences include nausea, vomiting, weakness, headaches, and disruption of the heart and kidneys. With a long-term excess of vitamin D, calcification can develop – the deposition of calcium salts in the kidneys, blood vessels and heart, which increases the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular diseases.
