Hadi Alodid, a 30-year-old Sudanese man granted refugee status in the UK in 2023, appeared in Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with attempted murder, making threats to kill an NHS radiographer, and possession of a knife. The court denied him bail, remanding him in custody for four weeks. Judge Steven Keown expressed sympathy for Ogilvie and warned that those involved in the unrest could face prison sentences.
