One patient initially attempted to intervene, positioning himself between the suspect and other individuals present in the waiting area. While this initial attempt to de-escalate the situation was unsuccessful, it briefly delayed the attack. The suspect proceeded to the consultation room where Ana S. Was working and inflicted multiple stab wounds.

Following the attack, three additional patients acted quickly to restrain the aggressor. Their efforts successfully contained the suspect, preventing his escape, until local police arrived on the scene within a minute. Police were able to secure the area and place the suspect in custody.

The suspect was subsequently transferred to the Guardia Civil headquarters in Benicàssim for further investigation. Authorities have stated that there were no prior reports of domestic violence between the suspect and the victim, nor had the victim reported any related concerns at the health center.
