Beverley Callard Shares Health Update Amid Breast Cancer Battle and ‘I’m A Celebrity’ Final

Beverley Callard, the 69-year-old Coronation Street star known for her three-decade portrayal of Liz McDonald, has provided a candid health update as she prepares for the I’m A Celebrity South Africa final. The actress, who was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in February 2026, shared that she has been resting constantly and her husband has been ensuring she does not lift a finger during her recovery.

Callard confirmed her surgery to remove the cancer was successful, but doctors later discovered the disease had spread to a single lymph node. Despite this, she remains focused on attending the live final of I’m A Celebrity South Africa this Friday, expressing excitement about the event and emphasizing her determination to get well for it.

The actress revealed that her husband, John, has been actively supporting her recovery by preventing her from doing any household tasks, especially as they undergo a major house move. She stated, “Today, our furniture started to arrive. John didn’t let me do anything. Hopefully, I’ll be keep feeling well and get better. But I’m decent, I’m good. Got the big I’m A Celebrity final on Friday – which I’m very excited about, and so I’ve got to get myself well for that.”

Callard’s health journey began after she collapsed during filming of I’m A Celebrity South Africa in September 2025, before her cancer diagnosis. She later explained on Instagram that she passed out after feeling unwell during her time in the jungle camp, saying, “Of course, I didn’t recognize then that I had cancer, but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn’t felt very well.” This experience marked the beginning of her health battle, which she now faces with resilience.

Throughout her illness, Callard has kept her 261,000 Instagram followers updated on her progress, sharing both challenges and moments of hope.
