Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams to Co-Chair the 2026 Met Gala

The 2026 Met Gala is set to be a star-studded event, with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams announced as co-chairs alongside Vogue’s global editorial director, Anna Wintour. The annual fundraiser will celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, titled “Costume Art.”

A Return to Fashion’s Biggest Night

This year marks Beyoncé’s first return to the Met Gala in a decade, having last attended in 2016 for the “Manus x Machina” gala. Vogue reports that Kidman and Williams are frequent attendees, having both been present at the 2025 gala.

“Costume Art”: Exploring the Relationship Between Fashion and the Body

The 2026 exhibition, curated by Andrew Bolton, will explore the intricate relationship between clothing and the human body. “Costume Art” will be organized around a series of thematic body types, including the Naked Body, the Pregnant Body, and the Aging Body. The show will feature both historical and contemporary pieces from The Met’s extensive collection.

Modern Galleries and a Broader Discussion

The exhibition will also be the first to be held in The Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries, a nearly 12,000-square-foot space adjacent to the Great Hall. Bolton hopes the theme will “put an end to the rather obsolete ‘is fashion art?’ debate once and for all.”

Host Committee and Event Details

Joining the co-chairs is a host committee co-chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz. Additional members include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, and Yseult, with more members to be announced. The gala will take place on May 4, 2026, according to ABC News.
