Biathlon: Norwegians Snuff Out Medal Hopes

The Swedish men’s team finished off the podium in the Olympic biathlon sprint, despite a strong performance from Sebastian Samuelsson. Samuelsson, with flawless shooting, narrowly missed a bronze medal, finishing in fifth place, according to TT news agency.

The competition was dominated by Norway and France. Quentin fillon Maillet of France secured the gold medal with a decisive 16.1-second lead. Norway’s Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen claimed silver, and Sturla Holm Lægreid took bronze.

Martin Ponsiluoma’s fast pace was hampered by two missed shots, resulting in a seventh-place finish. Malte Stefansson, making his Olympic debut, struggled with two misses and a penalty loop. Jesper Nelin faced challenges throughout the race, finishing with five penalty loops.
