Bitburger’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Sebastian Holtz, to Depart

Bitburger Braugruppe’s Geschäftsführer Vertrieb und Marketing (Managing Director of Sales and Marketing), Sebastian Holtz, will leave the company in October 2026. Holtz, 47, has decided not to renew his contract, which expires in October 2026, citing personal reasons.

Return to Hamburg

Holtz plans to take on a new leadership position in his hometown of Hamburg by November 2026 at the latest. According to company statements, he will be returning to Hamburg to be closer to family.

Previous Experience

Before joining Bitburger in January 2024, Holtz served as Managing Director of Carlsberg Deutschland, the German branch of the Danish Carlsberg Group. He previously held positions at Shell and the gas station operator Orlen.

Bitburger’s Response

Dr. Dieter Heuskel, Chairman of the Supervisory Boards at Bitburger, expressed regret over Holtz’s decision but acknowledged his personal reasons. He thanked Holtz for his commitment to the family-owned company and wished him well for the future.

Looking Ahead

Bitburger Braugruppe has initiated the search for a successor to lead its sales and marketing efforts. The company’s brands, including Bitburger, König Pilsener, Köstritzer, and Licher, will soon have a new marketing and sales chief.
