BlizzCon 2026 Esports Lineup: Classic and New Titles to Clash

BlizzCon 2026 is set to deliver a robust esports experience, blending established competitive scenes with a nostalgic return to classic Blizzard titles. The event, scheduled for September 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center, will feature high-stakes competition across World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and the newly announced Blizzard Classic Cup.

Blizzard Classic Cup: A Celebration of Esports History

The inaugural Blizzard Classic Cup is a cross-title team showdown designed to celebrate the rivalries, personalities, and defining moments of Blizzard Esports. Iconic players will compete for a total prize pool of $100,000 USD, battling for pride, and legacy.

The Classic Cup will span four titles: Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft: Remastered, StarCraft II, and Warcraft III: Reforged. Captains Nick “Tasteless” Plott and Dan “Artosis” Stemkoski will draft teams and lead them into battle, with both also providing commentary during select matches.

The competition format will not be a traditional bracket; instead, each match will contribute points to a team’s total score, with the team accumulating the most points crowned champions and earning a $20,000 USD team bonus. Legacy matchups will carry the most weight, with each awarding 3 points, although entertainment matches will award 1 point.

Points Breakdown:

  • Heroes of the Storm (Legacy only): 3 points
  • StarCraft: Remastered: 3 points (Legacy), 1 point (Entertainment) – Total 4 points
  • StarCraft II: 3 points (Legacy), 1 point (Entertainment) – Total 4 points
  • Warcraft III: Reforged: 3 points (Legacy), 1 point (Entertainment) – Total 4 points
  • Total Points Available: 15
