The Établissement Français du Sang (EFS) Grand Est and local Rotary Clubs are hosting the 20th edition of the “Mon sang pour les autres” blood drive at the Opéra de Reims from September 17 to 19, 2026. According to organizers, the event aims to boost regional donations in an atypical architectural setting, welcoming donors daily from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and until 6:00 PM on Saturday.
Event Details at the Opéra de Reims
The multi-day blood drive takes place directly inside the Opéra de Reims. According to EFS Grand Est, the historic venue will feature a conversational atmosphere, entertainment, and a post-donation snack area for participants. While the actual blood extraction process averages about 10 minutes, organizers advise donors to budget 45 minutes to an hour for the complete appointment, which includes a pre-donation medical interview and the recovery period.
Walk-ins are welcome alongside scheduled appointments, though attendees must bring a valid identity card. Medical staff advise participants to eat a proper meal and maintain adequate hydration before arriving at the opera house.
Donation Requirements and Ongoing Access in Reims
Blood donations help support ongoing medical treatments and emergency procedures across the region. According to the EFS, a single donation can potentially help save up to three lives. Individuals who cannot attend the special opera house event can still donate year-round at the permanent Maison du don located at 45 rue Cognacq-Jay in Reims.

The Maison du don operates on adjusted weekly hours:
- Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday and Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Appointments for regular donations or the September event at the Opéra de Reims can be booked online through the official EFS platform or by visiting the facility directly.
