European Commission Blue Book Traineeship Webinar: Application Insights and Program Details

Aspiring EU professionals have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the European Commission’s prestigious Blue Book Traineeship program through an upcoming webinar. Hosted by the futurEU Club in collaboration with the Jacques Delors Centre, the event will feature current and former trainees sharing their experiences and answering questions about the application process and life in Brussels.

Webinar Details

The virtual event is scheduled for March 16th at 6:30 p.m. (Brussels time) and will be held on Zoom. Registration is required and can be completed via the Jacques Delors Centre website. Participants will receive the Zoom link via email shortly before the event.

Featured Speakers

The webinar will feature three Hertie alumni and a current student, offering diverse perspectives on the Blue Book Traineeship:

  • Tanguy Balcon – Hertie alumnus, Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development
  • Alicia Monsefi-Pour – Hertie alumna, Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space
  • Leo Brandt – PhD Student at the Jacques Delors Centre, Directorate-General for Secretariat-General

The session will be moderated by Luise Hartmann, a current Hertie student and student assistant at the Jacques Delors Centre.

About the Blue Book Traineeship

The European Commission’s Blue Book Traineeship is a five-month, paid program designed to provide graduates with hands-on experience in EU policymaking and administration. According to the European Commission, the program aims to foster professional skills, intercultural awareness, and personal growth. Trainees work within various departments of the Commission, its executive agencies, and the European External Action Service.

Registration for the October 2026 session of the Blue Book Traineeship will open from March 16th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (Brussels time) to April 7th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (Brussels time). Interested candidates can apply or check their account on the official traineeships website.
