Bluebird Taxi Falls Into Hole in Jakarta Due to Puddle-Covered Road Damage

A Bluebird taxi became stuck in a hole concealed by a puddle on Jalan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The incident, captured on video and shared on social media by the @dki360 account, highlights ongoing infrastructure challenges in the city.

Incident Details

The taxi’s front wheel became lodged in a hole approximately 30 centimeters (cm) deep, filled with rainwater. A local resident, Wahyu (23), explained that the driver attempted to navigate a section of the road believing it was passable, unaware of the hidden hazard.

“So the Bluebird car was going to the section of road on the right side. Meanwhile the hole was closed puddle “Because it’s been raining,” said Wahyu. He added that the driver did not realize the puddle concealed a deep hole and attempted to drive through it.

Rescue and Vehicle Condition

The incident occurred around 4:00 AM local time (WIB), and a Bluebird tow truck arrived to retrieve the vehicle at approximately 10:00 AM. Wahyu confirmed the driver was unharmed and the taxi was still operational after being towed.

“The driver is fine. The car was still able to move after being towed,” Wahyu stated.

Bluebird’s Response

As of this reporting, Blue Bird Public Relations has not responded to requests for comment regarding the incident. Kompas.com has reached out for a statement.
