China Dominates 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics, Secures Record Medal Count

The 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy, concluded with China topping the medal table, achieving a record-breaking performance with 15 gold, 13 silver, and 16 bronze medals, according to reports from March 15th and 16th, 2026. This marks China’s best showing at an overseas Winter Paralympics since its debut in Salt Lake City in 2002.

Chinese Delegation Celebrates First Gold and Receives Congratulatory Message

The Chinese delegation’s success began on March 7th with Cai Jiayun from Yunnan province winning gold in the men’s 7.5-kilometer sprint standing event in biathlon. Following this initial victory, State Councilor Shen Yiqin sent a congratulatory message on behalf of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council.
