Nano Runners Animated Series Greenlit by Boat Rocker Studios
Boat Rocker Studios has greenlit Nano Runners, its first fully financed animated series, created by Industrial Brothers co-founder Matthew Fernandes. The 26-episode action-adventure project targeted at children ages six and up will be presented to buyers at MIPCOM alongside the studio’s recently announced unscripted slate.
“It’s been a little over a year since Boat Rocker Studios returned to private ownership and refocused our strategy on IP development and ownership,” said Jon Rutherford, President, Global Content & Rights at Boat Rocker Studios, according to the article. “This project, from the immensely talented mind of Matt Fernandes, is exactly the type of project we want to be investing in.”
Survival on a Miniature Scale for Teenage Fugitives
The series follows Kai and Jade, two teenage fugitives who escape their home planet just as machines destroy it. Their escape pod crash-lands on Earth, where they discover an unexpected consequence: the crash leaves them smaller than bugs. Everyday environmental hazards become lethal threats, as raindrops strike like falling bombs and ordinary beetles tower over them like giant kaiju.
To survive, the pair must locate a lost colony of their people hidden on the planet. Their mission grows more urgent as the destructive machines that ruined their homeworld arrive on Earth to strip it bare. The article reports that the series positions the tiny heroes as the planet’s final line of defense against technological annihilation.

Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios are co-producing the project. Craig Martin, known for his work on Sonic Prime, serves as the writer and story editor.
