Booker T on His WWE 2K26 Commentary Debut: “I Bit Off More Than I Could Chew”

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is expanding his role within the wrestling world, now lending his voice to the upcoming WWE 2K26 video game as a commentator. After years of appearing as an in-ring character in the 2K series, Booker T has joined Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton in the commentary booth, alongside Barrett.

A Novel Challenge for the Five-Time Champion

Booker T recently shared his experience recording commentary for WWE 2K26, admitting it proved more demanding than anticipated. “Man, it’s been an awesome experience working with 2K, finally getting my voice in the game. I think I bit off a little more than I could chew, though,” he said in a promotional video released by 2K26 via WrestleZone. “I know it’s more reading than I’ve ever done in my life.”

Bringing NXT Flair to the Game

Despite the challenge, Booker T is enjoying the process, noting the opportunity to incorporate his signature catchphrases. “I use a lot of the quotes from the video game on NXT, so it’s actually pretty cool. ‘No bread, no water, just meat!’ As well as, ‘It’s all about checks and championships!’” he explained. WrestleTalk reports that Booker T currently commentates on NXT alongside Vic Joseph.

A Lasting Legacy

Booker T expressed excitement about being “immortalized” as a commentator in the game, particularly as a way to connect with a younger audience. “I’ve had a great career, so many people remember me from my wrestling career. So many kids come up to me now and they recognize me from being a commentator, and a lot of them didn’t even know I was a wrestler,” he stated. 411MANIA adds that this new role allows him to reach fans who may not be familiar with his in-ring accomplishments.
