Boston College travels to face Georgia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field on Saturday, October 24, 2026, looking to secure back-to-consecutive ACC wins after defeating Pitt last week. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, with the Eagles entering the matchup as underdogs against a 2-4 Yellow Jackets squad.
Can Boston College build on its recent offensive momentum?
The Eagles enter Saturday’s contest following a conference win against Pitt, a game where true freshman quarterback Mason McKenzie showed notable improvement in the passing game. According to the article, McKenzie effectively managed the pocket and connected on deep throws, though two red-zone interceptions remained a blemish on an otherwise strong performance. Teammate KP Price stated at a midweek press conference that the sky is the limit
for the team, while Mason McKenzie noted that the offense is all starting to come together a little bit.
Despite the offensive progress, injuries present a challenge for Boston College. Running back Evan Dickens left the Pitt game limping, though the team’s rotational approach and McKenzie’s mobility help mitigate depth concerns. A win this weekend keeps the team on track for its bowl eligibility goals. Georgia Tech’s defense is also not very good.
How do the current betting odds and win probabilities favor Georgia Tech?
Georgia Tech opens as a favorite at home, though the team is looking to bounce back from a 10-point loss to Virginia Tech. Machine learning models from Dimers.com assign Boston College a 33.8% win probability compared to 66.2% for Georgia Tech, with a projected final score of 23-27 in favor of the Yellow Jackets. Betting markets list Georgia Tech as a 6.5-point favorite with an over/under set at 51.5 points.
The Yellow Jackets rely on an offense led by quarterback Alberto Mendoza and running back Justice Haynes. However, Haynes missed the previous game against Duke due to injury, and his availability for Saturday remains uncertain. Georgia Tech’s defense allows nearly 400 yards of offense per game and struggles to generate splash plays, tallying just 11 sacks and one interception on the year.
What do analysts expect from the matchup at Bobby Dodd Stadium?
The game hinges on whether Boston College can capitalize on a vulnerable Georgia Tech defense. If McKenzie avoids red-zone turnovers and keeps the offense on schedule, the Eagles have a clear path to exploit a Yellow Jackets unit that yields significant yardage. Conversely, Boston College must tighten its run defense to contain Mendoza and a potentially returning Haynes. With the spread narrowing and bowl stakes rising, Saturday’s afternoon kickoff in Atlanta serves as a crucial test for both programs.
