BOSTON – Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced on January 29, 2026, the recall of forward Matt Poitras from the Providence Bruins.
Poitras, 21, has been a key contributor for Providence this season, appearing in 39 games and registering 24 points through eight goals and 16 assists. He currently ranks third on the team in assists and second in power play points with 10.
Throughout his AHL career with Providence, spanning 79 games, Poitras has accumulated 65 points, including 25 goals and 40 assists. he has also gained experience at the NHL level,playing in 66 career games with the Bruins,where he has recorded six goals and 20 assists for a total of 26 points.
The Whitby, Ontario native was originally drafted by Boston in the second round, 54th of the 2022 NHL Entry draft. His recall signals an possibility for increased playing time and contribution to the Bruins’ lineup.
