A man is currently wanted by the Buena Vista Police Department for allegedly attempting to use counterfeit $50 bills at two stores in Buena Vista, Virginia, on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The incidents occurred at a Dollar General and a CVS Pharmacy, both located on Midland Trail.

According to police reports, the suspect attempted to use two counterfeit $50 bills at each store around 11:30 a.m. He did not successfully obtain any merchandise and fled both locations on foot. Buena Vista Police Department officials believe the suspect may have left the area in a white vehicle, though the make and model are currently unknown.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately six feet tall and weighing around 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing:
- A tan zip-front jacket
- A dark shirt
- Black pants
- Light-colored sneakers
- A knit hat with bold “Fresh Orleans”-style lettering
