Bulgaria Air Operates Flights to Evacuate Citizens from Middle East

On March 4th and 5th, 2026, Bulgaria Air is conducting extraordinary flights to facilitate the return of Bulgarian tourists from the Middle East, including those in Dubai, and Egypt. The airline successfully landed the first plane carrying 180 Bulgarian citizens in Varna on March 4th.

Evacuation Flights

Bulgaria Air initiated these flights in response to the evolving situation in the Middle East, aiming to provide a safe passage for Bulgarian nationals wishing to return home. The first flight, arriving in Varna, included evacuees from both Egypt and Dubai.

Flight Details

The initial flight landed in Varna on March 4th, bringing 180 Bulgarian citizens back to the country. Bulgaria Air is operating additional flights on March 5th to continue the evacuation efforts.

Flights from Dubai to Varna are currently available starting at £202 with options from airlines including Wizz Air, Bulgaria Air, and Turkish Airlines. A flight with Wizz Air Malta and Bulgaria Air, departing Dubai on June 18th and returning from Varna on June 20th, is priced at £352 per passenger.
