Bulls and Stormers Clash in Bok-Laden URC Derby at Loftus Versfeld

Pretoria will host a highly anticipated United Rugby Championship (URC) derby on Saturday as the Bulls capture on the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld. Both teams have named strong starting XVs, featuring a significant number of Springbok players, as they look to climb the URC standings.

Bulls Bolster Pack with Experienced Players

The Bulls have reinforced their forward pack with the return of Gerhard Steenekamp, Johan Grobbelaar, and Wilco Louw to the starting lineup. Alulutho Tshakweni, Jan-Hendrik Wessels, and Mornay Smith, who started against the Sharks, will provide impact from the bench. Jeandre Rudolph earns a start at number eight, replacing the player from the bench, while captain Marcell Coetzee and Elrigh Louw remain in their starting roles in the loose forwards. The backline remains unchanged, with the half-back pairing of Embrose Papier and Handré Pollard, and a back three of Kurt-Lee Arendse, Sebastian de Klerk, and David Kriel.

Cobus Wiese and Marco van Staden, who is set to make his 100th first-class appearance for the Bulls, will add further strength to the forward options from the bench.

Stormers Welcome Back Key Springboks

The Stormers have also welcomed back experienced players, with Neethling Fouché, Deon Fourie, and Damian Willemse returning to the starting XV. Ruhan Nel will captain the side, partnering with Willemse in the midfield, while Suleiman Hartzenberg starts on the right wing. In the front row, Fouché will be joined by fellow Springboks André-Hugo Venter and Ntuthuko Mchunu. Paul de Villiers and Hacjivah Dayimani are set to be unleashed from the replacements bench.
