The Paris Bourse advanced on Thursday, July 30, driven by a robust wave of corporate earnings reports even as geopolitical friction persisted in the Middle East, according to market data reported by BFM Bourse. The benchmark CAC 40 index climbed 0,75% to close at 8.471,18 points.

CAC 40 Index Lifted by Strong Second-Quarter Reports

Market operators spent the session digesting a heavy calendar of corporate financial updates. The CAC 40 found its primary momentum from heavyweight index components Schneider Electric and L’Oréal, which both delivered second-quarter growth figures that surpassed analyst expectations, according to BFM Bourse. Schneider Electric shares advanced +6,9%, while L’Oréal gained 3%. Additional support came from Société Générale, which climbed +5,8%, Vinci with a 4% increase, and Bouygues, which rose +6,6% following successful semiannual earnings releases.

Conversely, the reporting period brought sharp declines for other major firms. Stellantis shares dropped -4,2% and Sanofi fell -5% after releasing their respective financial updates. Outside of the primary index, Air France-KLM shares rose 2,5% following its semiannual results.

ADP Rallies Following Airport Regulation Agreement

Aeroports de Paris (ADP) recorded one of the session’s most significant jumps, surging 10,4%. According to BFM Bourse, the rally was driven primarily by an agreement struck by the French state regarding the economic regulation contract for Parisian airports, overshadowing the operator’s actual semiannual earnings release.

Geopolitical Tensions and Oil Market Stability

Investors maintained a cautious stance on external risks, keeping a close watch on ongoing developments in the Middle East. Deutsche Bank noted that the situation remains tense, pointing to a new wave of United States strikes launched against Iran overnight, as cited by BFM Bourse. Despite these regional escalations, crude oil prices showed minimal movement. September Brent North Sea crude dipped 0,08% to 88 dollars per barrel, while New York-traded WTI crude edged up 0,08% to 84,52 dollars per barrel. In the foreign exchange market, the euro remained steady against the dollar at 1,1476.
