El Cáceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad opens its 2026–27 season under the guidance of head coach Jacinto Carbajal, who returns to the bench after leading the squad to the promotion playoffs for the Primera FEB last term, according to club announcements. The verdinegra squad gathered for medical evaluations before officially tipping off pre-season training sessions.
Roster Construction and Front Office Overhaul
Carbajal works with a heavily revamped roster assembled by the club’s new sporting structure, featuring returnees Kalinicenko, Albert Lafuente, Pol Campeny, and Juan Santos. Summer arrivals include José Antonio Maleva, Vladimir Orlov, James Potier, Antonio Burgos, Kobe Newton, Hugo Vázquez, and Senegalese center Thierry Sagna, whose arrival from Biele ISB was slated for a few days after the initial medical checks, per club reports. Former player Luis Parejo also rejoined the organization as general and sporting director, collaborating directly with Carbajal to build the squad.
Copa España Group Stage Schedule
The squad’s competitive calendar kicks off with the Copa España group stage throughout September, serving as a warm-up before league action begins. Cáceres landed in Group D alongside BCBadajoz, CB Toledo Basket, and the Spanish Basketball Academy.
Segunda FEB League Transition
In the Segunda FEB league competition, structural adjustments see the removal of the former West and East group designations in favor of a streamlined setup divided simply into Group A and Group B, each comprising 14 teams. Cáceres competes in Group A across a 26-match regular season. League play tips off on October 3 away against CB Toledo Basket, with the home opener at the Multiusos scheduled for October 10 against Algeciras.
