Carlo Verdone Shares Hilarious Pharmacy Story on Italian TV

Carlo Verdone, the celebrated Italian actor and director, recently captivated audiences on the Italian talk show Che Tempo Che Fa with a humorous anecdote about his frequent visits to the pharmacy. The story, which quickly went viral after being shared on the show’s social media channels on Saturday, March 21, 2026, highlights Verdone’s penchant for observing everyday life and turning it into comedic material.

A Colorful Encounter

Verdone recounted an incident he witnessed while at a pharmacy, describing a man dressed similarly to a character from his film Sacco Bello. According to Verdone, the man began recounting a romantic encounter, claiming his partner had said, “You made me touch the sky, you made me see the stars.”

The story took an unexpected turn when a man described as the “boss of the gambling den” – observing from a corner – reacted with skepticism. A joke was then made about the man’s “sexual properties,” prompting an angry outburst. Verdone relayed that the man demanded three minutes and proceeded to lift a bucket of water with his body, much to the amusement of onlookers.

“This one takes the bucket and practically managed to lift the bucket with his member – said Verdone – and all the people around were shouting and applauding ‘well done’. We were laughing, that is, we raised the bucket… I have to say that he wasn’t in bad shape, it’s obvious. No, he wasn’t in bad shape. But the laughter lasted a week,” Verdone explained, noting the incident occurred during a period of “machismo” and “chauvinism.”

Promoting “Vita da Carlo”

Verdone appeared on Che Tempo Che Fa to promote the fourth season of his series, Vita da Carlo, which is available on Paramount+ as of November 16, 2023. The show’s host, Fabio Fazio, as well briefly stumbled during the interview, mistakenly referring to the late David Bowie as if he were still alive while discussing Verdone’s admiration for the artist. Verdone quickly corrected Fazio, stating, “Ero amico” (“I was friends”).

Verdone’s Pharmacy Habit

This isn’t the first time Verdone has spoken about his fondness for pharmacies. He previously described them as one of his “favorite places,” as reported by DailyMotion, though he didn’t elaborate on the reason for his frequent visits during that appearance.

Verdone’s ability to find humor in everyday situations continues to resonate with audiences, solidifying his status as a beloved figure in Italian cinema and television.
